The National Association for Single and Divorced Families (NASDF) is making waves in the family law world with the launch of Support Insured — an innovative new insurance policy designed to safeguard child support and alimony payments when life takes an unexpected turn.
This week, NASDF announced that Randall M. Kessler, founding partner of Kessler & Solomiany, LLC, one of the nation’s leading family law firms, has officially endorsed the product. Kessler’s support signals a major step forward for single parents and divorced families seeking stability and peace of mind.
“Support Insured is a game-changer in the family law sector,” said Kessler. “They have combined child support insurance and alimony insurance under one policy. And while litigants have always been able to purchase life insurance, there has never been a policy that will guarantee the continuation of court-mandated payments for up to one year if the payor becomes involuntarily unemployed, temporarily disabled, has to declare a business bankruptcy or dies—until now. This really does provide the payee with a stronger foundation for their financial needs.”
With more than 35 years of experience in domestic relations and family law, Kessler’s résumé includes representing judges, elected officials, athletes, and entertainers. He’s authored multiple books on family law, serves as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law, and is the former Chair of the American Bar Association’s Family Courts Committee.
“Randall Kessler’s endorsement affirms that Support Insured is an innovative product filling a need among single and divorced families today,” said Ron Platt, CEO and Co-Founder of NASDF. “For decades, family law has lacked a product that can provide true continuity of support when unexpected events occur. Support Insured fills that gap.”
What NASDF Does — and Why It Matters
Founded to support the growing number of single and divorced families across the country, NASDF is a nonprofit organization that focuses on empowerment through education, resources, and financial tools. Its mission is to provide real-world solutions that help parents maintain stability — emotionally and economically — after separation or divorce.
Through initiatives like Support Insured, NASDF addresses one of the most pressing challenges in family law: ensuring children and dependents remain supported even when circumstances change.
“NASDF’s mission is to empower families with real solutions as they navigate divorce,” said Joy Read, COO and Co-Founder of NASDF. “Support Insured delivers peace of mind when it matters most, and Mr. Kessler’s endorsement reinforces the impact this product can have on families nationwide.”
Launched earlier this year, Support Insured is available exclusively to NASDF members and can be purchased by either the person making support payments or the one receiving them. The organization encourages families and mediators to consider the policy during separation or divorce agreements to help secure financial stability for children and dependents.
