The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg recently welcomed nonprofit leaders, community organizations and residents for the unveiling of two new grant programs designed to address neighborhood priorities and improve health outcomes in South St. Petersburg.
The event offered attendees an early look at the funding initiatives, guidance on the application process and an opportunity to connect with fellow community changemakers and Foundation staff.
New Investments Target Three South St. Pete ZIP Codes
Both grant opportunities focus on the priority ZIP codes of 33705, 33711 and 33712 — neighborhoods the Foundation has identified as areas where strategic investment can help strengthen community health and well-being.
The new initiatives expand the range of funding opportunities health St. Pete organizations and grassroots leaders can access to support local residents and build long-term community resilience.
Together With Our Community Supports Grassroots Efforts
One of the newly announced programs, Together With Our Community, offers rolling-deadline grants of up to $2,500 for community-based activities, neighborhood events and new programming that align with the Foundation’s mission.
The grants are intended to help organizations and community groups launch projects quickly and respond to emerging local needs in the targeted neighborhoods.
Applications are being reviewed monthly, with awards continuing until available funding has been fully distributed.
St. Pete Thrives Provides Larger Grants to Expand Proven Programs
The second opportunity, St. Pete Thrives, was launched in partnership with Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital and is designed to help successful programs grow their reach and deepen their impact.
Organizations may apply for grants of up to $50,000 to sustain and scale existing initiatives that contribute to a healthier, more thriving community where all residents have the opportunity to lead healthy lives.
The program prioritizes direct-service solutions serving residents in the same South St. Petersburg ZIP codes of 33705, 33711 and 33712.
Connecting Organizations With Resources
In addition to learning about the grant opportunities, attendees received an overview of application requirements and the review process while networking with local leaders committed to improving outcomes across South St. Petersburg.
By pairing flexible grassroots funding with larger investments in established programs, the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg is creating new pathways for neighborhood organizations to turn ideas into action and expand services where they are needed most.
For community organizations working to improve quality of life in South St. Petersburg, the new initiatives represent some of the most significant funding opportunities health St. Pete leaders have seen this year.
