‘Ready Pinellas’ Emergency Planning App Updated for 2022 Hurricane Season

As South Florida enters the height of hurricane season, Pinellas County encourages residents to download the updated Ready Pinellas mobile app. It can help them prepare themselves and their families for summer storms and other weather-related emergencies. The app has been updated as of June 30th, 2022 to reflect changes in evacuation zoning, emergency preparedness, and more.

The updated app also features a new design to enhance the user experience. This includes several updated maps and checklists to ensure residents have everything they need to prepare for the season. Ready Pinellas helps users build a personal emergency plan using a supply checklist, home inventory tool, and emergency contacts list.

The app also provides real-time storm updates for any tropical storm or hurricane entering the Gulf of Mexico. These recommendations and resources are provided by Pinellas County Emergency Management, and are updated year-round for resident safety. When a family uses the app, they can all stay informed and know the family emergency plan in the event of evacuation, lost power, flooding, or other issues common with hurricane season.

Updating the app on your phone

Anyone can download the new app for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play store. Just search by searching “Ready Pinellas” or by visiting this site.

Android device users who want the updated Ready Pinellas app will need to download it from the Google Play. They also have to delete the old version from their devices. Apple iPhone and iPad users who already had the old version of the app installed will see it automatically updated to the new version. Pinellas County recommends enabling location services for the app so that an evacuation zone can be provided based on each user’s location.

Pinellas County residents can also learn more about preparing for hurricane season by picking up a copy of the County’s All Hazards Preparedness Guide at their local library, Pinellas County office or municipal office.
