Tampa Museum of Art Celebrates National Arts and Humanities Month with New Programs and Upcoming Expansion

Art is alive in Tampa this October! The Tampa Museum of Art is celebrating National Arts and Humanities Month with hands-on programs, inspiring exhibitions, and big plans for expansion.

A Museum on the Move

After a major 2023 renovation that added seven new gallery spaces, a redesigned lobby and store, and an 8,000-square-foot Vinik Family Education Center, the Museum is ready for its next chapter. This spring, a transformative expansion will break ground, promising more space, more programs, and more ways for Tampa to engage with the arts.

“National Arts and Humanities Month is a reminder that the arts are essential to our quality of life,” said Michael Tomor, Penny and Jeff Vinik Executive Director of the Museum. “As we prepare to expand our campus, we are investing in spaces that will welcome more students, families, and visitors into experiences that connect them to the arts in powerful ways.”

Why It Matters
National Arts and Humanities Month, established in 1993 by Americans for the Arts, celebrates creativity across the country. For Tampa, the Museum’s renovation and upcoming expansion make art accessible, inspiring, and central to the community’s cultural life.

From hands-on workshops and sensory-friendly programs to breathtaking exhibitions, the Tampa Museum of Art proves it’s more than a museum—it’s a hub for connection, creativity, and community. With the upcoming expansion, Tampa’s cultural future has never looked brighter.
