Two Speakers Announced for UT Business Speaker Series

Previous conversation at the Sykes Hall of Fame Business Speaker Series.

This September, Gerald “Jerry” Divers and Gregory Celestan will speak as part of The University of Tampa Sykes College of Business’s Hall of Fame Business Speaker Series. Divers is the founder of The Bank of Tampa, while Celestan is CEO of Celestar Corp.

The presentation, “Passion: A Key to Entrepreneurial Success,” will take place on campus at the Falk Theatre from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m on Thursday, September 15. The event is free for registered students and guests, but seating is limited and reservations are required.

Divers is a University of Florida alumnus with a degree in banking and finance, He established The Bank of Tampa in 1984. The bank has become the largest community bank in the Tampa Bay area and 10th largest Florida chartered bank. Divers also serves on the UT Board of Trustees.

Celestan started Celestar Corp., a defense consulting company specializing in intelligence support, in 2015 in Tampa. Previously, Celestan served 20 years in the U.S. Army, providing intelligence support and coordinating operations in locations such as Belarus, Germany and West Africa. 

The Skyes Hall of Fame Business Speaker Series

The Sykes Hall of Fame Business Speaker Series was created to augment the learning of all business students, specifically the undergraduate students. The series provides students with a rich and vibrant experience, which adds to their portfolio of learning business leadership at the college. Guest speakers who take part are nationally known business leaders and entrepreneurs who have an excellent reputation and story to tell. They share their personal experiences with several hundred students and provide an opportunity for these students to gain firsthand insight into the realities, challenges and perseverance that are required to become a highly notable leader in the business community.
